Understanding Your Inspection Report
After the vehicle inspection, you were given a vehicle inspection report. The front of the form includes: Individual Test Summary, Vehicle Information, Test Information, Individual Test Results, Current Test Serial Number and Diagnostic Identification Number.
Individual Test Summary
Emissions: Beginning July 1, 2008 this test will no longer be
performed..
Evaporative Systems: Beginning July 1, 2008, this test will no longer
be performed..
On-Board Computer: The On-Board Diagnostic System, found in some vehicles,
provides codes explaining which engine components are not operating properly.
Equipment Inspection: Beginning July 1, 2008, this test will no longer
be performed.
Recall: This section is currently not used.
Final Result: The final result will be marked either PASS, FAIL or
REJECT. If
your vehicle failed any part of the inspection, this area will be marked FAIL.
Vehicle Information
This section identifies the vehicle tested, such as license plate, year,
make, VIN and mileage at the time of the inspection.
Test Information
This section contains the date, time and location of the vehicle inspection.
Individual Test Results
This section contains detailed information about the vehicle inspection
results, such as emission readings, equipment results, etc.
