  • The total number of tests conducted was 629,359. This includes vehicles with final results of Pass, Fail, Abort or Waive. The overall failure rate was 11.63%
  • Overall, the network tested 19% less vehicles in 2008 than in 2007. In 2008, the test station that tested the most vehicles was West Allis with 83,498 tests, or 13.3% of the volume. The test station that tested the most vehicles per lane was Waukesha North with 26,059 tests per lane.
  • Conversely, Waukesha South, which closed on June 30, 2008, tested the fewest vehicles with 16,243, or 2.6% of the volume. Waukesha South also tested the fewest vehicles per available lane with 4,061 tests/ per lane. The station which was open for the entire year that tested the fewest vehicles was Burlington, with 20,215 vehicles tested overall and 10,107 tests/lane.
  • March had the highest test volume for the year 70,469 and December had the lowest volume 47,316. The monthly average volume was 62,895.
  • The total number of waivers issued in 2008 was 361.
  • The total number of aborted tests was 22,674.
  • The total number of IM240 inspections (pass/fail) was 90,984, the total number of idle inspections (pass/fail) was 4,455 and the total number of OBDII inspections (pass/fail) was 501,974. The total number of gas cap inspections (pass/fail) was 314,612.
  • The initial failure rate for IM240 inspections (all vehicle categories) was 12.6%; retest failure rate was 48.6%; and overall IM240 failure rate was 16.9%.

  • The test station that tested the most vehicles was Milwaukee South with 94,545 tests, or 17% of the volume. The test station that tested the most vehicles per lane was Waukesha North with 25,862 tests per lane.
  • Conversely, Burlington tested the fewest vehicles with 23,289, or 3% of the volume. The test station that tested the fewest vehicles per available lane was Waukesha South with 7,973 tests per lane.
  • March had the highest test volume for the year 70,469 and December had the lowest volume 47,316. The monthly average volume was 62,895.
